Puebla ( Mexico ) Panam GP Series Presentation


Puebla (March 27th). A big party was experienced this Sunday during the worldwide launch of Panam GP Series Supported by Ferrari Driver Academy, in which the brand-new Formula Panam ( chassis Tatuus FA 010 ) and Abarth 500 Panam Trophy ran their first few miles on a street circuit. A huge crowd gathered on the Boulevard of San Andr?s Cholula Atlixcayotl where Puebla state authorities, led by Gov. Rafael Moreno Valle and Major Miguel Huepa, along with executives of Panam GP Series, led by former racer Alfonso Toledano, hosted the celebration to announce the details of the 2011-2012 season. The presidium was composed by Rafael Moreno Valle, Puebla state governor; Miguel Angel Huepa, Mayor of San Andr?s Cholula; Luca Baldisserri, Ferrari Driver Academy director; Gianfranco De Bellis, Tatuus director; Alfonso Toledano, operating director of Panam GP Series; Miguel Guillen, director of the promoter Panamericana de Competencia, and Jose Sanchez, president of the Mexican Federation of Motor Sports.

Panam GP Series Supported by Ferrari Driver Academy will run from October to May 2012, San Andr?s Cholula will host the first round in the calendar. It will go to Central, South America and the Caribbean in the Dominican Republic, and close in Mexico next year. The series will be played by nations throughout the Americas, and the top three drivers will receive the opportunity to take the course of the Ferrari Driver Academy. In his turn, Luca Baldisserri explained that Ferrari Driver Academy has two basic objectives: first, initiating a process of great talent around the world, not only in Italy, to import a young driver to Formula One and, second, promoting motor sport at international level for this they chose Panam GP to implement this project in Latin America. Baldisserri confirmed that the best drivers in the championship will receive instruction in Maranello physically, technically and mentally, and they train in the simulator with support and experience of Ferrari. After the protocol, the Formula Panam and Abarth 500 Trophy were discovered, running their first laps on a street circuit with Picho and Alfonso Toledano driving. The next stop of Panam GP Series Supported by Ferrari Driver Academy will be in Buenos Aires, where Quique Mansilla will announce plans for South America and Team Argentina.
